Leicester boss Shakespeare: We won't pander to Mahrez

Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare says they won'tpander to convince Riyad Mahrez to stay.

Mahrez has admitted he wanted to leave the Foxes in
the wake of last season's extraordinary title triumph,
while other key men could be ready to quit the club
when the transfer window opens.
“We don't need to pander to everybody's needs, but
they need to know they are wanted at a football club
and appreciated," Shakespeare said, after Saturday's
2-1 loss away to Manchester City .
“Riyad is one of many who, if you ask him, feels
appreciated and wanted here — not only by the
coaching staff and the owners and the fans, but by
the players as well.
“I think most of our players are under contract.
There's always going to be speculation because they're
good players. But until you get an offer, it's
speculation. You don't have a decision to make unless
you get an offer, and we haven't had an offer for any
one of our players.
"With Riyad, having spoken to him, he's very self-
critical. He's probably more self-critical than anybody
realises."
