NEWCASTLE TO BID £39M ON CARVALHO

    Newcastle United are plotting a £39 million bid for Sporting midfielder William Carvalho, according tovarious Portuguese outlets including O Jogo and Record .
    Rafa Benitez reportedly tracked Carvalho closely when he was Real Madrid boss and is keen to bring him to the newly-promoted Premier League club.
   Sporting are demanding £39m as that's his release clause, but their president did admit this week that he'd be willing to sell players for less than their contract clauses to raise funds this summer. Carvalho was last summer target for Arsenal as well as Man Utd.
