- The 34-year-old retired from international duty in 2015 after a row with Sunday Oliseh - Enyeama told fans on social media that his return to the team was not his decision - Since his retireement, Carl Ikeme has cemented his status as the Super Eagles number one Former Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama has revealed that his return to the Nigerian national team is not in his control. The 34-year-old Lille goalie retired from international football in 2015, after a tense argument with Sunday Oliseh, who was Nigeria’s coach at the time. Enyeama could however make a return to the team under new coach Gernot Rohr following his latest comments on social media. The goalkeeper fielded a question on Twitter relating to a possible return to the Super Eagles in the future. The former Enyimba international of Aba man replied saying: “Hmmmmm.dat (that) question is not mine to answer. As of today.” The Lille player has been named in CAF’s Team of the Year no less than three times and is widely regarded by many as Nigeria's only world class footballer. He has played at three World Cups, five Africa Cup of Nations (winning the 2013 edition) and the 2013 Confederations Cup.
